I was slightly apprehensive about this piece of work as I took it over mid-way through after a fellow freelancer, the fabulous Lindsey Smith, went on maternity leave. It was also quite a high-profile project – organising and delivering a national conference for the Arts & Heritage sector exploring ways in which to empower and up-skill frontline staff. Luckily for me I wasn’t alone, as four members of front line staff at the Royal Pavilion & Museums – Alice, Holly, Kate and Nick – had been drafted in to co-produce the event with me as a Workforce Development placement. It was lovely to work with such a passionate and hard working team and the end result was testament to their commitment – an inspiring, exciting and well-organised event with a hashtag that ended up trending as Number 2 on Twitter (if Gareth Southgate hadn’t been appointed England Manager on the same day who knows what heady heights we could have reached!).
