Exhibition in Varndean library

This was my second year of running the Talisman project with Our Future City and Varndean School, and it was an absolute pleasure again! The project invites participants to explore the idea of talismans, or significant objects, before encouraging them to design and make their own out of clay. Once the clay work has been fired each piece is 3D scanned and printed out as a small keyring that the students can always carry with them. We worked with a small group of Year 7 students this year, and the project culminated with a small exhibition for friends and family in Varndean’s library.   Highlights of the project were a trip to Brighton Museum to see some significant objects owned by other people and some of the silly clay games we played with project artist Jo Coles!
