I was Executive Producer at Brighton Fashion Week for several consecutive years. That’s a bigger deal than it probably sounds. Brighton Fashion Week (our last shows were in 2015) was Europe’s leading fashion event for breakthrough design talent, and took over the city with show-stopping catwalk events and an innovative fringe programme. Over the years we showcased over 600 designers from over 40 different countries, and were even listed as best British fashion week by Sublime Magazine. As Executive Producer I oversaw all aspects of show production including designer liaison, venue liaison and site visits, hair and make-up, styling, casting, models, backstage team, audio visuals, staging and so on. I directly managed a team of 12 in the three months leading up to the event and during show week was responsible for around 200 volunteers. Working at Brighton Fashion Week taught me a heck of a lot about the complexities of staging events (and made me some really close friends), and will forever and always be close to my heart. I still get asked when it will be back. I can’t say too much at this stage but there may be some exciting new developments in 2018…
